Terms of Use for St. James Village Hall
- All requests for use of the St. James Village Hall must be made or confirmed in writing, using the form provided. All multi-year requests will be reviewed annually and renewed as appropriate.
- Each user must agree to these terms of use and sign a waiver and release of liability.
- It is understood that the Occupancy is: Standing 250, Seated 125.
- James will provide for opening up, closing up, having someone on-call for emergencies.
- User is expected to leave the space as found, with all paper and garbage properly disposed of, lights turned off and doors secured at the end of the use.
- Any spills should be cleaned up immediately. No food or beverages are to be left in the building, everything brought to the facility must be removed. Kitchen utensils and equipment must be washed. Restrooms and meeting rooms are to be left in broom clean condition.
- 50% of the rental fee is due at the time of application. Balance due 14 days prior to event. Check should be made payable to St. James Episcopal Church.
- Refunds will be granted for cancellations made at least 30 days in advance. If canceled less than 30 days of the event a 50% of rental fee will be refunded. No refund if cancelled with less than 7 days from the event.
- If clean up by St. James needs to be done after the event (and it has not been arranged in advance), a dean-up charge at the rate of $100 per hour will be deducted from the security deposit. (minimum charge is $100)
- Parties must be confined to the upstairs, kitchen, entry way and restrooms. Users are not to use or access the Church, Church Offices, or the North Salem Nursery School facilities and playground. Trespassing on neighboring property is strictly prohibited.
- User must make self aware of the steep terrain in the back of the Hall. Back exit doors should be used only in the event of an emergency.
- If food or alcohol is provided, User or his or her caterer must comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations (including age limits and ID requirements) and may be required to provide proof of proper licenses, permits in addition to liability insurance.The piano may not be used without special permission.
- Nothing should be attached (tapes/pins/etc) to the walls. Finishing nails are located over the boarded walls and over doorways so that light-weight items may be hung or put on cording that runs between nails. All cord or string must be removed by User.
- The facility is a non-smoking facility. There is absolutely no smoking in the building.
- The User is responsible for any security protection needed.
- The User shall pay all taxes, fees, or other government charges resulting from the use of the space, with St. James being in no way responsible.
